Mission Statement
The perceived mission of the International Native American Flute Association is to:
… encourage within its membership the primary continuation of the traditional and contemporary Native American flute.
… identify, collect, restore, maintain, preserve, and classify historical and contemporary Native American flutes in cooperation with university ethnomusicology departments or in collaboration with similar institutions.
… encourage the protection of the intellectual property rights of others within the provenance of music and musical instruments.
… cooperate, coordinate, and to promote fellowship in good faith among INAFA's membership whose member activities contribute to the musical lifeways and culture of all humankind and includes encouraging an inclusive approach to the cultural life of our world community.
… encourage regional and national projects by INAFA through high quality exhibitions, educational out reach programs, specific performances and programs, scholarly research and publication efforts, and other compatible ventures of INAFA's members.
